The Lee County Sheriff’s Office is growing its presence in Estero.
The law enforcement agency opened a satellite office at Miromar Outlets, which was expected to be fully operational as of Friday, July 5, said Caitlyn Mumma, an LCSO spokeswoman.
A ribbon cutting ceremony was held Saturday, June 29.

The satellite office is in unit 190 of Miromar Outlets, south of the outdoor shopping mall’s playground and rock climbing walls, according to a post on the LCSO Facebook page.
LCSO chose to open the satellite office at Miromar Outlets because of the mall’s location, Mumma stated in an email. The mall is next to Interstate 75.
“It is easily accessible to those living in Estero, Bonita Springs and Fort Myers,” Mumma said.
A certified deputy will work in the Estero office, Mumma said.
LCSO plans to open the Miromar Outlets location to area nonprofits, such as the United Way, Sheriff’s Youth Activities League and Mothers Against Drunk Driving.

The satellite office will serve as a site for safety seminars and programs, Mumma said.
The office at Miromar Outlets is LCSO’s first satellite office in Estero. LCSO has a substation at 8350 Hospital Drive near Lee Health Coconut Point in south Estero.
